We are in 2012 PROGRESS and MATHIEU LUSTRERIE meet because Mr Régis-Mathieu wants to develop and offer their customers around the world candles that are a bit special.
In a few words, the company MATHIEU LUSTRERIE is the world reference in the reissue, creation and repair of chandeliers. With numerous references such as Versailles, the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte and more recently Notre Dame de Paris. It rewrites our history, but also offers contemporary works in France and abroad. A local actor committed to the development of her region and her city, she always tries to surround herself with local professionals.
Régis Mathieu is none other than the inventor of the fake LED candle, his wish was to offer a candle with a body that was as close as possible to a real candle. During one of our meetings he came up with the idea of creating this silicone piece and asked us if we were in a position to develop something qualitative and economically viable.
Our teams then sat around the table to define the expectations and the important points of this project:
The first step was to define the right RAL, the right color in order to develop the right mix and effectively countertype the color of a real candle.

After several dozen tests and trials we managed to obtain the ideal and perfect color.
The next step was to find the manufacturing process that would allow us to combine quality and economic solutions. Two possibilities in this case: moulding or extrusion-cutting.
Molding had several advantages such as the ability to obtain parts with a very precise dimension, a perfect cut in terms of finish, but also several disadvantages such as the creation of a specific mold and the presence of a joint plane all along the part, which, aesthetically, was not ideal.
Naturally we therefore opted for an extrusion solution, this process has the advantage of being economically viable because we were in a position to extrude several meters of product over a short period of time and to cut them back to the expected length. This solution also made it possible not to have a joint plane and to have a uniformly identical part.
After defining the perfect dimension we launched the first tests, which very quickly proved to be a great success.

But everything was not finished, once the product was extruded we had to find a solution to guarantee a straight and clean cut in order to offer a well-made product.
The teams naturally designed adapted and efficient cutting tools. The validation of this solution allowed us to develop the product in many dimensions, allowing Regis MATHIEU and his teams to respond effectively to numerous projects.
10 years later and nearly 100,000 pieces produced, we are still developing new products today based on these first candles. Proof of this is that exceptional products and silicone can be combined to breathe new life into products that make us dream.
Thanks to Régis MATHIEU and his teams for their trust and loyalty over the years, proud to be at your side to write a new page of history.
